Debt Relief
What is Debt Relief?
The Lightpoint Law Group debt negotiation program could help you get out of debt faster than making minimum payments to creditors because we negotiate with your creditors to reduce what you owe.
The benefits of debt negotiation include:
- Savings: Pay a fraction of what you currently owe.
- Speed: Resolve your debt much sooner than with making minimum payments.
- Affordability: Monthly deposit is usually less per month than minimum payments.
Plus, the Washington and Wolfe attorney-represented program offers three additional benefits:
- You'll have a free one-on-one consultation with an attorney before you enroll.
- An attorney licensed in your state will oversee your entire program.
- You'll have attorney representation if any of your creditors use legal action to collect on a debt.
How much does debt negotiation cost?
We work with you from the beginning to make sure the monthly program deposit is one you can afford. Your monthly deposit includes estimated settlement amounts as well as legal fees and service costs. The settlement fee is a percentage of your enrolled debt.
How long does debt negotiation take?
The program length varies from 24-48 months, depending on each individual's situation. This is considerably shorter than it would take to pay off a large amount of high-interest debt by making minimum monthly payments.
How does debt negotiation work?
When you enroll in the Lightpoint Law Group debt negotiation program, you make monthly deposits into an FDIC-insured Dedicated Account that you own and control. As the funds accumulate, we create a custom negotiation strategy based on your particular mix of creditors and debt amounts in order to maximize your savings.
Based on your strategy and available funds, our attorneys and negotiators work directly with your creditors to negotiate a reduction in the amount you owe. When an agreement is reached, we will present it to you for approval. Once approved, the funds in your Dedicated Account will be used to pay your creditors and Washington and Wolfe's fee for that settlement. After the full settlement amount is paid, you no longer owe on this debt. We will continue this process until all your debts are behind you!
